DATES TO REMEMBER


APPRAISAL DATE
The effective date of all appraisals and exemptions is January 1, of the assessment year.  The status of the property on January 1, determines its appraisal.

EXEMPTIONS/REDUCTIONS
Application for these exemptions must be filed with the County Property Appraiser, by and March 1.

* Homestead     * Widow/Widower    * Disability   * Veterans
* Religious       * Charitable      * Additional senior exemptions.

MOBILE HOMES
Declaration of Mobile Home as Real Property can be filed with the Property Appraiser at anytime.

BUSINESS PERSONAL PROPERTY
Tangible Personal Property tax returns must be filed between January 1, and April 1, each year, to avoid a penalty, up to 25 percent.

T.R.I.M. NOTICE
A truth in millage and taxation notice will be mailed to all property owners in mid to late August, of each year.

VALUE ADJUSTMENT BOARD
Petition to appear before the Value Adjustment Board must be filed with the Board of County Commissioners within 25 days after T.R.I.M. notice mailing.  Petition may be obtained from the County Property Appraiser or the Board of County Commisioners. The completed petition must be mailed to:

    Green Cove Springs, FL 32043

TAX BILL
November 1, or thereabout, tax bills are mailed by the County Tax Collector to all property owners.
