Roger A. Suggs, CFA, AAS
Property Appraiser, Clay County, FL


Roger Suggs was born in Fairfield, Florida, and moved to Clay County in 1991. Prior to accepting the position of Assistant Clay County Property Appraiser in 1990, he served as the Regional Supervisor, Florida Department of Revenue, overseeing the field audits for the six northeast Florida counties. Mr. Suggs has worked in the Assessment/Appraisal field for more than 28 years. Mr. Suggs took the oath of office for the position of Clay County Property Appraiser on January 6, 2009.

Mr. Suggs has a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with a specialty in management, and is a State-Certified General Appraiser. He is the first person in Florida to receive the Assessment Administration Specialist (AAS) designation awarded by the International Association of Assessing Officers. Mr. Suggs is the Past-President of the Florida Chapter of that same international organization, which has 1000 members statewide.

Mr. Suggs is active in the community through membership in the Clay County Cattlemen's Association, Clay County Farm Bureau, and is the Past-President of the Rotary Club of Green Cove Springs.
